The Problem with Being Human
I'm reading an article called “The Problem with Being Human” and the first words that were said were “The problem with being human is that our minds are made for a certain purpose (staying alive).” and that first sentence hit me because it's 100% true. We always think about more, we always think about what our future would be like, or we stress about this girl/boy, or we feel like we work too hard and need a break from things. But behind all that is staying alive, getting food to eat, having a place to live, breathing air, making relationships with people, we live to live.
Another thing that was said in the article was when the author said “All that thinking has an unfortunate by-product: ego.” and reading this i related to it alot, there's a big difference between having confidence within yourself and ego and somethings people think to high on them selfs which creates and ego. But the sad truth is that most of us can't live up to that ego so when we end up falling short it hurts us way more. But if you have the mindset that if you do the best you can at something and if you lose or mess up that it doesn't make you a failure then you will be okay.
And last one of the many more things that caught my eye was when he was talking about people and how people “way is not the only way” and “ that our natural feeling of how things should and must be is actually not natural at all, but made by culture.” and this resonated with me because my generation is not 100% but mostly built off of social media and outside sources rather than the people themselves. People tend to look at what others are doing and follow it. Sometimes I question how people act to be like somebody not even knowing who they are.
